May 23 Devotion

Digging Diligently

How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, who seeks Him with all their heart.
Psalm 119: 2

Diligently digging into God's Word book by book will take the "Home hum" out of your relationship with Him. Ask God what book of the Bible you ought to study. Then start by asking questions. Who is the book about, what are its main themes, when was it written, where did the events take place, why is this book (chapter, verse) important? You'll be awed at what you learn.

May 22 Devotion

There All The Time

And He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.
Revelation 21:4

Someday we shall dwell in sweet union and communion with our God and Savior forever and ever. The final silence will be broken, and we will see Him and He is...as He has been...there all the time.

A Glorious Day

For Now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.

1 Corinthians 13: 12

What a day, when a glorious day it will be when Jesus Christ returns. Never again will there be a feeling of distance between you and your Lord. Never again shall a doubt of His love violate your faith. Hallelujah!

Never Apart From His Love

Who will separate us from the love of Christ?
Romans 8: 35

At times the Lord may seem distant, far away, unreachable. But you are never apart from His love, His promises, from Himself.  Silence? It's possible. Separation? Absolutely impossible.

In This Life We Are Expendable

But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all.
Philippians 2: 17

We human beings don't handle rejection very well. When persecution and trials come, our natural tendency is to wonder what we have done wrong to bring us into such painful difficulty. We forget-or perhaps we've never learned-that in this life we are expendable for the sake of the furtherance of the gospel.
